Ingredients
- Fish - 500 Grams, clean and cut into small pieces, I used Sardines
- Shredded Coconut - 1 1/2 cup
- Garlic - 8-10, sliced
- Ginger - 1/2 inch piece, chopped
- Red Pearl Onions - 15 - 20 , sliced
- Green Chillies - 2 - 3, chopped
- Curry leaves - 2 sprigs
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 Teaspoon
- Kashmiri chili powder - 1 Teaspoon
- Salt - 1 Teaspoon, adjust
- Water - 1/4 cup
- Gambooge / Kokum - 1 - 2
- Coconut oil - 1 - 2 Tablespoon
Directions
- Add shredded coconut, sliced pearl onions, chopped ginger, chopped garlic, chopped green chillies, curry leaves, turmeric powder, chilli powder, salt to a pan and mix well using hand.
- After that, add in the kokum and the cleaned fish pieces , mix well.
- Then add in 1/4 cup of water, cover and cook on low heat.
- Once the fish is half cooked, add in the coconut oil, curry leaves and mix well.
- Cover and cook on low heat until the fish is fully cooked.
- Remove from heat and serve warm.
