Ingredients
- Tutti frutti - 500 Grams
- Ginger candy- 250 Grams, chopped
- Sugar candied Orange slices- 250 Grams, chopped
- Dates - 250 Grams, chopped
- Cranberries - 250 Grams
- Golden raisins - 250 Grams
- Black raisins - 250 Grams
- Rum as needed, I used 2 liters of Rum
Directions
- Add the dry fruits and rum to a glass jar and mix well, close the jar and keep it in a dark place.
- Mix the fruits every two days for the first week and once a week after that.
- Use a completely dry spoon to mix the fruits. Add more rum if required.
NOTES
- Adjust the quantity of dry fruits according to your requirement. Please make sure that the dry fruits are completely immersed in the liquor.
- You can use any dry fruit of your choice. When adding dates, make sure to select the dates which are firm. Avoid the dates that are too soft.
- Use regular Rum, avoid White Rum or Flavored Rum.
- Wine can also be used instead of Rum but the cake will be more flavorful when soaked in Rum.
- Usually fruits are soaked 2-3 months before making the cake. If you want, you can even soak it for a year in advance.
